Lip Ying graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in 2017 from the University of Reading. After obtaining her Certificate of Legal Practice (CLP) in 2018, Lip Ying was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2020.
During her undergraduate studies, Lip Ying developed a keen interest in Intellectual Property (IP) law. She then had the opportunity to get involved and provide support in IP litigation matters during pupillage. Since joining Ella Cheong IP Services, she has gained further experience and knowledge in various aspects of trade mark practice, especially trade mark prosecution matters. Her responsibilities encompass attending to enquiries, managing clients’ trademark portfolios across the ASEAN region and responding to office actions issued by the Registry. She also provides preliminary advice relating to new applications, formalities requirements and maintenance of registrations.
Aside from work, Lip Ying enjoys listening to oldies, reading a good book and snacking on bread.
