COVID-19 Update: Malaysia

Due to an exponential rise in COVID-19 cases in Malaysia, the Malaysian government has elevated its ongoing Movement Control Order (MCO) to a total lockdown throughout the country from 1 June to 14 June 2021, subject to further extensions at the discretion of the government.

Our Kuala Lumpur office’s physical operations have been closed since lockdown measures were re-imposed on 12 May 2021, and will remain closed for the duration of the latest total lockdown. The office of the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) will also be closed. Electronic filing remains available, while trade mark and patent hearings originally scheduled during the total lockdown will be deferred and rescheduled to another date after the lockdown.

Our colleagues with whom you have been communicating will continue to look after your matters. They remain contactable for assistance by email. Should you have any queries regarding the above, please do not hesitate to get in touch with our Directors, Mr. Soh Kar Liang() and Mr. Kevin Wong ().

As always, to you, your colleagues and family, we hope you are keeping well and we wish you the best of health during this ongoing pandemic.
